How to Craft Grindstone
Grindstones are used to repair items and remove enchantments.
Crafting
Ingredients Needed:
- 2x Stick
- 1x Stone Slab
- 2x Oak Planks
Step-by-step Instructions
- Open a Crafting Table to access the 3×3 grid.
- Arrange the materials as shown in the grid above, then place the output Grindstone into your inventory.
- That’s it! You can now use or place your new item.
Ingredient Tips
Stick: Craft from two planks stacked; also drops from leaf decay.
Stone Slab: Gather Stone Slab via its typical source (looting, mining, farming, or trading).
Oak Planks: Crafted from any logs in a 2×2; great starter material found in all forest biomes.
Uses for Grindstone
- Repairing tools and weapons without keeping enchantments
- Removing enchantments from items to get some XP back
- Combining two damaged items into one with better durability
- Village weaponsmith job site block
Fun Fact
The grindstone was added in the Village & Pillage update as an alternative to the anvil for simpler repairs, and it's the only way to remove unwanted enchantments from an item.
