Is Minecraft down right now?
Use the live checker on this page. It probes Mojang session, Minecraft Services, textures, minecraft.net, and Microsoft login from CraftMC’s servers. Green means those hosts responded — not that every private SMP is online.
Why isn’t there an official Mojang status page API?
Microsoft removed status.mojang.com/check in October 2021. There is no public official JSON status feed anymore, so tools like this use HTTPS reachability probes instead.
Minecraft says authentication servers are down — what does that mean?
Usually the session server or Microsoft login path is failing. Check the Session Server and Microsoft Login rows here, then Xbox Live status if Microsoft login is red.
Can I join Hypixel / my friend’s server if this page is green?
Maybe. This tool checks Mojang/Microsoft auth infrastructure, not a specific multiplayer server. If only one server fails, that host is likely offline or blocking you.
Why do some rows show HTTP 403 or 404 but still say UP?
Many Mojang hosts refuse bare root requests. Getting any HTTP response (even 4xx) means the server answered. We only mark DOWN on timeouts, network errors, or 5xx responses.
Is Realms included?
Not as a separate Realms probe. Realms depends on Minecraft Services and Microsoft auth — if those are down, Realms usually fails too.
