Every potion recipe starts with a Water Bottle (glass bottle filled with water) placed in a brewing stand. Most positive-effect potions require an Awkward Potion as a base, which is created by brewing Nether Wart with a Water Bottle. The brewing stand must be fueled with Blaze Powder to function.
To make a Potion of Strength, you need an Awkward Potion and Blaze Powder. First, brew Nether Wart with a Water Bottle to create an Awkward Potion. Then brew the Awkward Potion with Blaze Powder in a brewing stand. The resulting potion increases melee damage by 3 for 3 minutes. Add Glowstone Dust to create Strength II (doubles damage boost) or Redstone to extend duration to 8 minutes.
Create a Potion of Healing by brewing a Glistering Melon Slice with an Awkward Potion. The Glistering Melon Slice is crafted with 8 Gold Nuggets surrounding a Melon Slice. This potion instantly restores 4 hearts (2 full hearts). Brew it with Glowstone Dust to create Healing II, which restores 8 hearts (4 full hearts). This is one of the most essential potions for survival gameplay.
The Potion of Invisibility requires two brewing steps. First, make a Potion of Night Vision by brewing a Golden Carrot with an Awkward Potion. Yes, potion brewing works almost identically in Bedrock Edition compared to Java Edition.
