FAQ

Can I edit an existing texture pack?

Yes. Upload your resource pack ZIP — we list every PNG under assets/.../textures. Edit textures, save changes, and download. Non-texture files (models, sounds, mcmeta, etc.) are kept from your original pack.

How do I make a Minecraft texture pack from scratch?

Use Vanilla basics to start from real Minecraft textures, paint edits, save them into the pack, then download the ZIP. Drop it in your resourcepacks folder and enable it in Options → Resource Packs.

Does this work in Minecraft 26.2?

Yes. Choose the 26.2 (Chaos Cubed) preset so pack.mcmeta uses the modern min_format / max_format schema (format 88). Older Java versions have their own presets.

What resolution should I use?

Vanilla textures are 16×16. Imported HD packs keep their native size when loaded. Use the canvas size setting as a minimum when painting new vanilla-based textures.

Can I replace textures that aren’t in the vanilla list?

Upload your pack to see all of its textures, or use Custom path (e.g. block/diamond_block.png) under assets/minecraft/textures/.

Is this the same as a resource pack?

Yes. Modern Minecraft calls them resource packs. Texture packs are the common name for packs that mainly change block and item textures.

Will this work on Bedrock?

No. This edits Java Edition resource packs (pack.mcmeta + assets/minecraft/…). Bedrock uses a different layout.

Do I need to unzip the download?

No. Leave it as a .zip inside the resourcepacks folder. Minecraft reads the ZIP directly.
